The emotional framing is what makes this feel different from the usual countdown apps. Most of them are just timers, but the photo plus weather angle makes the waiting feel attached to a real future moment instead of an abstract number. The anniversary return for past events is also smart, because it turns the app from a one-time utility into something people might keep around after the trip or wedding is over.

Soon. is a countdown app for iPhone for the moments you care about: a trip, a wedding, a birthday, an exam, a concert, or a baby’s due date. Each moment gets a full-screen card with your own photo or a gradient theme, and a time if you want it to count down to the minute. Give a moment a past date and it counts up instead, so the same app keeps track of the days since something began.
Every moment can have a plan. Soon. suggests a starter checklist and timeline for its kind of event, and Plan mode is free. With Premium, a Baby moment gets a week-by-week plan, and plan items can send reminders. The examples on this page show what a trip, an exam, a birthday, and a memory look like in the app.

Add a moment
Tap + and answer "What's the moment?" with a title and a date, plus a time if you want the countdown to run to the minute. Pick an icon, a theme, and a photo. Or import an event from your calendar.

Put it where you'll see it
Pin the moment to the hero card at the top of Home. Add a widget to your Home Screen, Lock Screen, or StandBy, or the Control Center control on iOS 18. Free widgets show your pinned moment; with Premium you choose a moment for each widget.

Get a plan for the day
Open Plan and Soon. suggests a checklist and a timeline for that kind of event. Tick tasks off and add milestones of your own. With Premium, a Baby moment gets a guided week-by-week plan, and plan items can send reminders.

Watch it get closer
With Premium, reminders arrive 7 days, 3 days, and 1 day before, and on the day. The forecast appears once the date is within 7 days, and in the last 24 hours the Final Countdown runs on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.

A trip, 7 days away
The card shows your own photo of the place. Plan holds the trip checklist Soon. suggested. With Premium, the forecast for the place appears now, and a reminder arrives today, 7 days before.
Waiting for a baby, week by week
Baby mode lays out a week-by-week timeline: week 12, the first trimester ends; week 20, the anatomy scan; week 36, pack the hospital bag. Its checklist includes "Pack the hospital bag" and "Install the car seat". It is a planning aid, not medical advice.
A birthday that resets itself
Set a birthday to repeat yearly and it rolls forward to next year when the day passes. Making a moment repeat needs Premium; viewing repeating moments is free.
An exam on the Lock Screen
A Lock Screen widget shows the days left each time you pick up your phone. Turn on "Show months and weeks" to see a line like "2 months, 3 weeks, 4 days" under the day count.
Days since the day that mattered
Give a moment a past date and it counts up. The Soon · Streak widget shows the count-up as a grid, and the Control Center control can show it too.
A wedding, one year later
The wedding is now a Memory that counts the days since. With Premium it holds your photos and a note, and On This Day sends a reminder on the anniversary.
