Lagerland Apps

For Apple Watch & Apple Health power users

You already collect the data.
These apps explain it.

If you've worn an Apple Watch for years, Apple Health holds years of your sleep, HRV, heart rate, and workouts. The Health app shows them as charts. These apps turn them into a call for today, with the reason behind it.

What's the problem with Apple Health alone?

Apple Health stores your data well and shows it as charts and averages. Turning those charts into a decision is left to you: whether this morning's HRV is low for you, what pulled it down, and whether today should be a hard session or an easy one.

The apps below are for people who already have the data and want to know what it means.

The stack

Three apps that work through Apple Health

All three come from Lagerland Apps, an independent studio in Finland. None of them needs an account or shows ads, and none sends your health data to us.

Why combine these three apps?

Observa: the daily read
A Readiness score each morning from sleep, HRV (SDNN, as Apple Health records it), resting heart rate, and training load, plus a Sleep Score with sleep debt against your own goal and a stress read with its drivers named. Patterns ranks the habits that tend to line up with your recovery over 14, 28, or 90 days. Pro adds 30, 90, and 365-day trends, Functional Age, ECG history, and training analysis.
GymLogger X: the training input
A strength training log for iPhone with an Apple Watch app that shows live heart rate during your sets. Once you allow Apple Health access, each completed workout is saved there as a strength-training workout, and Observa counts it in your training load.
AfterShift: schedule context (optional)
If you work shifts, AfterShift reads your sleep from Apple Health and measures it from the end of one shift to the start of the next, naps included, so a night worker's sleep isn't split across two dates.
Privacy
None of these apps sends your health or workout data to Lagerland Apps or carries a third-party analytics SDK. Observa and AfterShift keep their data on the device. GymLogger X keeps your workouts on your devices, in your own iCloud, and in Apple Health.

Questions

FAQ

What is the best Apple Health analytics app?
If you want your Apple Health data turned into a decision for today, Observa is the app we built for that. Each morning it scores Readiness from 0 to 100 from sleep, HRV (SDNN), resting heart rate, and training load, measured against your own baseline, and "Should I train today?" answers Push, Maintain, Recover, or Rest with the reason. "Why this score?" shows which signals moved each number. The daily scores are free, and the analysis runs on your device.
Does Observa upload my health data?
No. The analysis runs on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, and the app makes no network calls of its own. There is no account or iCloud sync, and Observa carries no analytics SDKs. Only purchases and the links you open use the internet.
How is Observa different from AutoSleep or Gentler Streak?
AutoSleep tracks and scores your sleep from Apple Watch data. Gentler Streak guides how hard to move each day. Observa reads the wider Apple Health picture each morning and combines sleep, HRV (SDNN), resting heart rate, and training load into one Readiness score, with a training call and the reasons behind it. It reads sleep from Apple Health whichever app saved it, so it can sit next to either one.
Can I use Observa alongside my workout app?
Yes. Observa reads workouts from Apple Health, whichever app saved them. GymLogger X, our strength log, saves each completed workout to Apple Health once you allow it. Those workouts count toward Observa's training load, which makes up 15% of Readiness and feeds the training call.
