Common RightSplit questions

Can I split shared dishes?
Yes, with Pro+. Any item can be split between several people: bottles, starters, shared plates. The item's cost is divided evenly among the people who shared it, and tax and tip are divided per person.
Does RightSplit need an account?
No. RightSplit works the moment you open it, with no sign-up and no personal details. Only one person at the table needs the app: you scan, split, and send everyone their amount.
Does RightSplit work offline?
Yes, it works in airplane mode. Scanning and splitting run on the device. Two things need a connection: sending the messages through Messages or WhatsApp (you can copy them and send later), and refreshing the European Central Bank exchange rates used for currency conversion.
What languages does the receipt scanner read?
Sixteen: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Polish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). Pick the receipt's language under Receipt Language in Options. In each of those languages the subtotal, tax, and total lines are recognized, so they aren't billed as dishes.
Does it handle tax-inclusive (VAT) receipts?
Yes. RightSplit takes each item at its printed price. When VAT is already included in each line, as is usual in the EU and UK, there is no separate tax line to divide, so the split matches the receipt. When the receipt adds tax as its own line, as in most of the US, RightSplit reads it as tax and divides it per person.
How many people can I split a bill between?
On the split screen you set the number of people, and with a scanned receipt you add the people at the table. For a trip or a shared home, Pro+ Spaces keep everyone's balance on your phone. When everyone in the group needs to see and add to the same ledger from their own phone, a group-based tool like Splitwise (or Tricount for trip ledgers) fits better.
