Fixed boards · Fixed queue · A proven answer

A Suika Game alternative
with a solution in place of the tumble.

Suika Game has earned its fans: drop a fruit, watch it roll, hold your breath while a merge shoves a grape toward the line. The chaos and the near-misses are the charm, and there is no single right answer; each run is a fresh chase for a higher score and the watermelon. Millrace is a different kind of merge game. The board is set, the queue of arriving tiles is fixed, and each level asks for one exact number on the marked cell within a move limit. You can reason a level all the way through, and when you solve it, the result card shows your moves next to the best possible.

How does Millrace compare to Suika Game?

Both are merge games, but you do quite different things in each.

What you do each turn
Millrace: Slide the tiles on the 4×4 grid, and equal tiles merge. New tiles arrive one at a time at the arrival cell.

Suika Game: Move the dropper along the top of the box and let go. The fruit falls, rolls, and settles; two fruits of the same kind that touch merge into the next size up.
What you are chasing
Millrace: One exact number (say, exactly 64) on the marked cell, within the move limit. The level is solved or it isn't.

Suika Game: A high score, and the watermelon at the top of an eleven-fruit ladder that starts at a cherry.
Luck and what you can see
Millrace: Nothing random in the campaign. The starting board is set and the queue of arriving tiles is fixed, and the status line tells you how many tiles are still to come and which one is next, so you can reason a level all the way through.

Suika Game: You are handed one of the five smallest fruits at random, with the next one shown. Bouncy physics mean a settled pile can shift or a merge can launch a fruit, and that unpredictability is much of the fun.
How you lose
Millrace: Two ways, both your own doing: block the arrival cell so the next tile has nowhere to land, or build past the target (a 128 when the level asked for 64), and the goal is lost. You can undo that move or retry.

Suika Game: A fruit goes over the top of the box. That includes one knocked upward by a merge, which is where the near-misses come from.
Structure and progress
Millrace: 64 levels in six chapters, from Warm-up to Mastery, each with a proven shortest solution. Solve one and the result card shows your move count, your best, and the best possible. Freeplay adds an endless board, the Daily Challenge gives every player the same board each day, and stats track your streaks.

Suika Game: No levels or stages, just one endless run at a time, with online rankings and your best scores kept. Skins and screen decorations change the look.
Price, ads & privacy
Millrace: The whole game is free, including all 64 levels, Freeplay, Hint, and coaching notes. Optional theme packs and undo bundles; no ads and no subscription. No account and no tracking, and the whole game plays offline.

Suika Game: $2.99 with optional skins; privacy label Data Not Linked to You. Suika Game+ on Apple Arcade has no ads or in-app purchases and a Data Not Collected label.

About Millrace

Questions

FAQ

What is a good Suika Game alternative on iPhone?
Millrace, if you want a merge game with a problem to solve in place of a physics tumble. Each of its 64 levels gives you a set 4×4 board, a fixed queue of arriving tiles, and one exact number to build on the marked cell within a move limit. Nothing in a level is random, and every level has a proven shortest solution. It is free with no ads, and an endless Freeplay board covers pure score play. If the physics and the watermelon chase are what you love, the official Suika Game app is still the one to play.
How is Millrace different from Suika Game?
Suika Game is a physics drop-and-merge game: you drop fruit into a box, two fruits of the same kind that touch merge into the next size up, and the run ends when a fruit goes over the top. Millrace is a tile puzzle: you slide the tiles on a 4×4 grid, equal tiles merge, and new tiles arrive one at a time at the arrival cell. Suika Game asks for the highest score you can reach. Millrace asks for one exact number on the marked cell, and you lose the level if you block the arrival cell or build past the target.
Is Suika Game luck or skill, and is Millrace random?
Suika Game is both. Where you drop matters a great deal, but the fruit you are handed is random (you can see one ahead) and the physics are bouncy, so a settled pile can shift and a merge can launch a fruit over the line. That unpredictability is a large part of its charm. Millrace levels have no randomness at all: the starting board is set and the queue of arriving tiles is fixed, so every position follows from the moves you play. Freeplay, the endless mode, is the one place where new tiles appear at random.
Is there an official Suika Game on iPhone?
Yes. Suika Game-Aladdin X is the official iPhone and iPad release, sold on the App Store for $2.99 with optional skin purchases. Suika Game+ is the Apple Arcade edition, with no ads, no in-app purchases, and Game Center leaderboards, and a sequel, Suika Game Planet, drops fruit around a circular stage. The game began on Aladdin X projectors and became a hit on Nintendo Switch. The official apps are listed under XGIMI LIMITED; many free fruit-merge games on the App Store borrow the idea but are not the official one.
Does Millrace have an endless mode like Suika Game?
Yes: Freeplay, one tap from the level list. It is an endless slide-and-merge board with no goal and no move limit. Stats track your best score, best tile, and streaks, and the Daily Challenge gives every player the same board each day. It scratches the score-chasing itch, though it is not a physics game; tiles slide on a grid instead of tumbling in a box. The 64-level campaign is the core of Millrace.
How much does Millrace cost compared with Suika Game?
Millrace is free, and so is the whole game: all 64 levels, Freeplay, the Daily Challenge, Hint, and coaching notes. The optional purchases are theme packs at $1.99 each (or $5.99 for all sixteen paid themes), undo bundles for Freeplay from $0.99, and a tip. There are no ads and no subscription, and undo inside a level is free. Suika Game-Aladdin X costs $2.99 up front with optional skins, and Suika Game+ is included with an Apple Arcade subscription.
