A Helm alternative
with Game Center and no macOS 26 requirement.

Helm, from Hidde van de Ploeg and Pol Piella, is one of the most polished native App Store Connect apps: a Mac workstation with an iPhone companion, launch checklists, TestFlight feedback that turns into GitHub or Linear issues, review templates, and a CLI. AppMeta overlaps on most listing work. The differences are which macOS you need, how you check changes before a push, Game Center, keyword tools, AI choice, and how you pay.

How does AppMeta compare to Helm?

Both are native Apple-platform apps built on the App Store Connect API, and both keep your key in the Keychain. They differ in the areas below.

Platforms
AppMeta: Mac only, macOS 14 Sonoma or later.

Helm: Mac and iPhone from one purchase. The App Store listing requires macOS 26 or iOS 26.
Pricing
AppMeta: $17.99/year, starting with a 3-day free trial, or $29.99 lifetime. The free download runs Demo Mode on sample data.

Helm: A free tier with 6 App Store submissions a year, 4 TestFlight submissions per app per month, one account, and no AI. Pro is $9.99/month on Helm's site, with weekly, yearly, and lifetime options in the App Store at regional prices.
In-app purchases and Game Center
AppMeta: Creates and edits In-App Purchases, subscriptions, and subscription groups, including introductory offers and review screenshots. Also Game Center achievements, leaderboards, and leaderboard sets.

Helm: Manages the IAP catalog, pricing, offers, and offer codes. Game Center isn't listed on its features page.
Keywords and AI
AppMeta: Keyword health checks on your Mac plus live difficulty and opportunity estimates, with the apps and numbers behind each score listed. AI through your own Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google key, a local model, or Apple Intelligence on your Mac (macOS 26 on a Mac that supports it).

Helm: ASO guidance in the editor and AI keyword generation on Pro. AI translation and copy improvement with Helm's default model or your own OpenAI key.
Release workflow
AppMeta: App Review Info, pricing, availability, age rating, attaching a build, phased release for the iOS version, and Add for Review.

Helm: Launch checklist, phased release, templates, nominations, Shortcuts actions, and the helm-asc CLI on Pro. Neither app uploads binaries.
Checking changes
AppMeta: Every changed listing field shows the live App Store Connect value next to your edit; push one field, one locale, or all locales. Fields changed in App Store Connect since your last fetch are flagged.

Helm: Helm's features page describes a product page preview for your listing copy. It does not mention a field-by-field diff.

About AppMeta

Questions

FAQ

What is a good alternative to Helm for App Store Connect?
AppMeta is the closest Mac alternative if you need Game Center editing, keyword difficulty estimates, or a Mac that isn't on macOS 26. It edits all 50 App Store Connect locales side by side, In-App Purchases and subscriptions, TestFlight, reviews, and submission, for $17.99/year or $29.99 lifetime. Helm is the better pick if you want an iPhone companion or a free tier.
Does Helm for App Store Connect run on macOS 14 or 15?
No. As of October 2026, Helm's App Store listing requires macOS 26 or iOS 26. AppMeta runs on macOS 14 Sonoma and later. Its Apple Intelligence option needs macOS 26, but the other AI options and every editing feature work on 14 and 15.
Is Helm for App Store Connect free?
Helm has a free tier that allows 6 App Store submissions a year, 4 TestFlight submissions per app per month, and one account, without AI features or the CLI. Helm's pricing page lists Pro at $9.99/month, and the App Store also sells weekly, yearly, and lifetime options at regional prices. AppMeta's free download runs Demo Mode on sample data; Pro is $17.99/year, starting with a 3-day free trial, or $29.99 lifetime.
Does Helm support Game Center?
Game Center isn't listed on Helm's features or pricing pages as of October 2026. AppMeta creates and edits Game Center achievements, leaderboards, and leaderboard sets, with their localizations, in the same app as your listing.
Is there an iPhone version of AppMeta?
No. AppMeta is Mac-only. Helm has an iPhone app for reviews, TestFlight, and release status. The Lagerland Apps iPhone app for App Store Connect is AppMeta Pulse, a dashboard for sales, subscriptions, and reviews that can't change your prices, builds, or metadata.
Do Helm and AppMeta keep my App Store Connect key on my Mac?
Both use the Keychain. Helm's FAQ says your keys are never accessible to Helm's servers and that it sends anonymized usage analytics. AppMeta stores the key as a this-device-only Keychain item, has no AppMeta server, and includes no third-party analytics SDK.
